Esther Barajas is the embodiment of the American Dream. Born in Mexico City in 1979, she is the youngest of three children born to Javier and Natalia Barajas. Looking for a better way of life for their family Esther’s parents immigrated to the United States seeking the American Dream, and they found it.
My family immigrated to this country, to California, from Mexico in 1985. We came here seeking the American Dream, which we ultimately found in the Central Valley city of Visalia. I know first hand the hardship of starting over with nothing, promise of a new life that California offers, and the thrill of success first hand.
Upon moving to Visalia, Esther quickly became involved with her community and joined Rotary International. She realized the need of Latino business representation in her new Rotary Club, which in result along with the effort of other individuals, founded the first Latino Rotary Chapter in Tulare County.
